Andy has been involved in HoverAid since 1994 and has worked with hovercraft in countries from Nicaragua, and Papua New Guinea, to Zambia, Mozambique and Madagascar. After 10 years as a Consulting Engineer and partner with Max Fordham LLP and with Masters degrees in both Engineering Science, and Development Management he joined us in 2006 to head up our UK team. Andy is based at our office in Cambridge and is responsible for HoverAid UK's operations and growth both at home and overseas. Andy's key focus is on technical development in the UK and in Madagascar.

Mario Satchwell: UK Events and Projects Manager
Mario joined teh UK team in Aril 2015 and is responsible for all the different events HoverAid hosts or attends throughout the year from festivals such as Big Church Day Out, our annual Bike Ride on the Isle of Wight to small fundraisers like quiz nights and musical evenings. He co-ordinates teams of volunteers to help out at these events, whether it be talking to the public or marshalling an event.
Sam originally got involved in HoverAid back in the early 90's, travelleing to China with an expedition. Since then he volunteered in Madagascar in 2011, and re-engaged with HoverAid.
He became a Trustee in 2012 and later the chairman in 2014. Sam has developed his own company, working as a consultant.
David is our longest serving trustee as well as being company secretary and financial overseer and HoverAid International Board Representative. David is a lecturer in Mechanical and Design Engineering at Portsmouth University, and has been involved in HoverAid and hovercraft development for over thirty years.
Roger is a retired Senior Tutor and Lecturer in Civil and Structural Engineering at Loughborough University.
As a trustee Roger's role is to oversee UK volunteer operations and health and safety issues.
Alan Norrish: Trustee and Director
Alan is a Doctor praciticing at Addenbrookes hospital Cambridge. He is on both the UK board and the international board.
Alan got invoved in HoverAid in 2014 and his role on our boards is his knowledge in our project areas. He is also very clear on making HoverAid's message clear and concise.
Amanda Wade: Trustee and Director
Amanda joined our board in 2014, specialising in internal audits. Amanda spent time as CEO of a small charity in Uganda, and often returns there to assist. She has a heart for mission, a key knowledge of Africa, and running a charity. Her role on our board is currently governance.
Peter Gunner : Technical development
Peter has been a long term volunteer with HoverAid for over twenty five years and was pivotal in setting up the Zambezi Hover-Lifeline a HoverAid project which ran from 1996 to 2000 working on the Zambezi river from Zambia to Mozambique. Peter was heavily involved in the British Hovercraft Expedition to China, and has worked with our team in Madagascar. As a farmer in Sussex Peter also built a dedicated hovercraft test track where our hovercraft can be put through their paces during maintenance and refurbishment periods.
