MMS Nosy Varika took place from October3rd to 7th 2022. This is is a community on the East coast of Madagascar, hit hard by the cyclones in January 2022. Travel to Nosy Varika was by two separate routes. One group went by plane with MAF, and the others by car.
The team who travel by car had a ferry problem. They arrived in Nosy Varika on Sunday but there was a problem with the ferry and the car could not cross the river to go to the town of Nosy Varika until Monday morning.
Everything went well, strong collaboration from the deputy for Nosy Varika during the mission.

In addition to the MMS teams, Patrick Keller, who heads up the MAF Madagascar operation, brought a group from MAF Norway, including one of their pilots, Wouter, and colleagues responsible for fundraising in Norway.
Medical consultations: 412. Surgery 36 (minor 10 major 26). Ultrasound 88. Ophtalmology 96. Teeth extraction 96. Total: 728 (a record !)
The next MMS will be November 7th to 11th to Ambatolahy. This is a change of venue, in response to requests from that community, and numbers of people needing medical support.
