In February this year, the north west of Madagascar was hit by fierce tropical storms which destroyed many buildings including schools. There are already far too few schools for isolated communities. If they exist at all, they are often poorly built and easily damaged. Roofs have been blown off, and the frail mud & concrete construction cannot compete with the force of the wind and rain
We have been asked to (re)build 3 schools with stronger more resilient structures so that the children can resume their valuable education. We have the design – from a school we build in 2020 following floods – and we are the only organisation there with the logistics and transportation capabilities needed.
With your support we will construct the schools, provide tables and benches, and writing boards so they don’t have to resort to using charcoal to write on the bare walls. The work will also include accommodation for teachers, wells and sanitation facilities, and trees planted around the buildings. We are looking to raise £25,000
With your help we can do this, and give these children the opportunity to have the education they need. Please give generously via https://cafdonate.
